This Privacy Policy explains how Trench Coat Owls LLC ("Trench Coat Owls," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use Koa, our AI companion web application, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By using Koa, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Koa is a paid subscription service. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not collect or store your full payment card number. Stripe collects and processes your payment details directly under its own privacy policy (https://stripe.com/privacy). We receive limited billing information such as your subscription status, the last four digits of your card, card brand, and billing country.

Koa uses artificial intelligence to power your companion (such as Wren), break down goals into missions, celebrate milestones, and generate narrative and visual content. To do this, your User Content and related prompts may be sent to and processed by third-party AI and media providers that operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
We do not use your private User Content to train publicly shared foundation models where we can prevent it, and we contractually require our AI providers to process your data only to deliver the Service. AI-generated output can be inaccurate or unexpected; you are responsible for how you rely on it.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Backup copies may persist for a limited time.
We use cookies and similar technologies to authenticate users, remember preferences, and analyze usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Service works. Where required by law, we request your consent for non-essential cookies.

Koa is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
